
Unsyiah menjalin kerja sama penelitian internasional dengan melakukan adaptasi model intervensi berbasis sekolah yaitu Safe Communities Safe Schools (SCSS). Penelitian SCSS ini dilakukan melalui kegiatan kerja sama dengan Dignity Instutite, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (CSPV), University of Colorado, Universitas Indonesia, dan Unsyiah. Penelitian ini didanai oleh Botnar Foundation Swiss dengan anggaran penelitian sebesar 2.000.000 CHF selama lima tahun.
Rina Suryani Oktari, S.Kep., M.Si, salah satu tim peneliti dari FK Unsyiah mengatakan penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan well being anak-anak dan keluarganya, serta ketahanan dan keamanan masyarakat melalui intervensi dasar yang dilakukan di sekolah. Sebab saat ini, kekerasan kepada anak dan remaja semakin sering terjadi. Selain itu, kecanggihan teknologi juga membuka peluang dan ancaman, sehingga berdampak bagi pertumbuhan mereka.
Sebagai langkah awal, ia bersama peneliti lainnya, Haiyun Nisa, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog, telah berkunjung ke University Colorado pada September lalu. Selanjutnya, peneliti dari Dignity Institute, University of Copenhagen, dan University of Colorado akan mengunjungi Banda Aceh dan Depok pada Januari 2020 nanti.
“Penelitian ini membuka peluang dan tawaran kepada banyak pihak untuk terlibat dalam penelitian, sebagai site coordinator, research assistant dan translator, “ ujar Rina dalam siaran persnya kepada Humas Unsyiah, Jumat 6 Desember 2019.
Selain itu lanjutnya, proyek ini juga menawarkan program bagi mahasiswa S3 Unsyiah (program doktoral) untuk menjadi bagian dari kegiatan penelitian ini. Kesempatan lain juga diberikan bagi lulusan S3 untuk mengambil peran di program Post Doc. Keduanya akan berkesempatan mengikuti pelatihan selama tiga bulan di University of Colorado.

Site Coordinator (University Based) : 1 person
Primary Responsibilities :
§ Oversee implementation of the SCSS Model in local school, including :
ü Facilitation of multi-disciplinary school team meetings using effective and individualized strategies.
ü Effectively communicate with school and international partners (in-person and via email/phone)
ü Participate in the development and implementation of individualized School Action Plans (SAPs)
ü Conduct regular site visits to schools participating in the project
§ Collaborate with a team of International partners and with other school and community partners to implement the adaptation of the SCSS model in local Indonesia schools.
§ Promote evidence based programming and a data-driven approach to building a safe school climate.
§ Identify and coordinate school’s initial and ongoing training, technical assistance and coaching needs
§ Help with adaptation of tools and process to help schools implement the adapted SCSS model
§ Support data collection both school wide from students and staff and with the school team
§ Clearly articulate (oral / written) information related to project implementation to various audiences including : schools, parents, community stakeholders, grants funders, etc
§ Perform all other duties as requested by senior personnel.

Highly desired : Experience with the school team
Qualification
§ M.A in related field (preferred) or a B.A in a related field plus one to two years of relevant experience
§ Experience in the education field and / or with program implementation and evaluation
